Our Story

Property tax appeals shouldn’t be only for the experts.

For years, our work included helping commercial property owners navigate property valuations, assessments, and property-tax appeals. Those owners often had access to experienced professionals, detailed analysis, and organized evidence to support their position.

But we kept seeing something that bothered us.

Residential property owners were facing the same complicated property-tax system — without the same access to resources or guidance.

When we first opened Trim to Florida homeowners, the response was overwhelming. Thousands of property owners reached out looking for help understanding their assessments, their property records, and whether there was a reason to seek a reduction.

That response confirmed the need for a more accessible residential property-tax review process.

Residential platform launched in 2026

We built the Trim Valuation Method as a structured, Florida-specific review process designed to bring property-tax knowledge, evidence guidance, and a more organized review experience to residential property owners.

Experience on both sides of the process.

  • Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker
  • Former Florida Value Adjustment Board Hearing Officer

After years of working with Florida property owners — and reviewing property-tax disputes as a Value Adjustment Board Hearing Officer — I saw the process from both sides. I saw the arguments property owners made, the records counties relied on, and the evidence hearing officers actually had to evaluate.

“The problem was not always that homeowners lacked a legitimate concern. Often, they simply did not know how to organize it into a clear, supported request.”

Trim was built to help bridge that gap.

Trim Property Taxes is not a law firm. Legal services are not included in the residential self-help platform unless provided under a separate written legal-services agreement.

Why Trim Is Different

Not just paperwork. A guided review of the property and the evidence.

The goal is not simply to generate forms. The goal is to help the owner understand what may matter, what should be documented, and how to organize the information into a clearer request for reduction.

Florida-Specific

Designed around Florida assessments, TRIM notices, county records, deadlines, and appeal procedures.

Property-by-Property

Reviews the facts of the individual property rather than treating every homeowner the same.

Evidence Guidance

Helps identify documents, photographs, records, and comparable information that may support the request.

Technology + Experience

Technology helps organize the review efficiently while the process reflects practical Florida real-estate and property-tax experience.
